Post Field hospital Liverpool
After coming across some old papers (been sorting a lot of things out just lately!) Found out my Grandfather was with a field hospital TA in Liverpool. I can just remember going to a mess do with him. It would be around 1965. One of the tankards says "Everone in the Sergeant Mess Ace Hospital Liverpool" Any info? He was in WW1 +WW2 He much of been there for close on 50years!! His was also John Callaghan but he was called Pat why? I dont know

I hope someone can throw some light on this for you John. The only ACE I ever came across in the Army (apart from Ace Whittick!) was Allied Command Europe as in AMF(L) which stood for Allied command europe Mobile Force (Land). Perhaps there were two John Callaghans in his unit (perish the thought!).
